REMOTE DRUM TRACKS FOR THE MODERN RECORDING ARTIST

I help Artists, Producers and Songwriters elevate their music with custom drum tracks tailored to their song, genre and vision. Not overproduced, not overplayed. Just the right drums for your song.

HI! I’M VISHAL

My approach is simple: I treat every project like a collaboration. That means I listen closely to your vision, understand your influences and make intentional choices that serve your music.

As a drummer, I’ve played on tons of records for artists like Nick Hakim, Billie Marten, Beth Orton, Hannah Cohen, Raveena, Empress Of and many more. I’ve also simultaneously maintained a career as a recording engineer in my own right with credits including Cautious Clay, Marc Ribot, Beth Orton, El Michels Affair, Ali Sethi, Lou Tides, Linda Thompson, Bartees Strange and Will Butler, just to name a few.

This unique skillset allows me to offer not just my skills as a player, but also the ability to record myself at the highest possible level. I’m not just a seasoned session drummer, I’m also an actual working recording engineer with amazing equipment and real recording experience that allows me to get sounds that rival any studio.

WORK EXAMPLES

MY PROCESS

STEP 1 - SCHEDULING

Our first step is to schedule a call so we can talk through your vision for the drums; the feel, sound and any references you love. We agree on a timeline and I get to work!

STEP 2 - SESSION PREP

I set up my drum session with your stems and begin dialing in my drums and recording levels to match your vision for the song.

STEP 3 - RECORDING

I'll record a few takes and send you a bounce for feedback. Not feeling it? I'll try different approaches until we nail it.

STEP 4 - FILE DELIVERY

Once we’re satisfied with the takes, I make any necessary edits and make stems of all recorded tracks, and a stereo bounce as a reference. All stems (including alternate takes) are then sent to your inbox so you can drop them right into your session.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The recording process is simple! Reach out and schedule a call with me. We discuss parts, sounds and any references you might have and then I get to recording the tracks.

You can also be present when I’m tracking using Audiomovers and Zoom, so we can make sure you’re getting the sound and performance you want.

Alternatively, I do a couple of takes and send them your way for feedback before getting final takes and editing and comping things to your liking.

Once approved, I send you stems of all the drum tracks as well as a stereo bounce for you to use in your process.

  • Ideally, you have a song that is partially recorded at a tempo you are happy with

  • I pride myself on being a versatile drummer and engineer. I’ve worked in a variety of genres including Acoustic Singer-Songwriters, Indie Rock, Pop, Soul/R&B, and Electronic music.

  • I’m an experienced drummer who also happens to maintain a busy schedule as a recording engineer. These two distinct skill sets make it easy for me to record myself, eliminating the prohibitive costs of going to a studio, hiring not just a drummer but also an engineer to capture the sounds. I’m able to do all this from the comfort of my own recording studio, eliminating several other elements that contribute to the costs of getting great drum sounds on your productions.

  • Getting good drum sounds is a rare skill. Being able to perform the right parts AND capture them appropriately is rarer still. Nothing beats human feel and unique drum sounds that interact authentically and dynamically with your music.
