My name is Vishal Nayak and I am a multi-instrumentalist, producer and recording and mixing engineer. I attended Berklee College of Music and have been based in Brooklyn since 2012.

As an engineer, I have worked on releases by Cautious Clay, Marc Ribot’s Ceramic Dog, Beth Orton, Broadway’s Stereophonic Cast, Kelsey Lu, Bartees Strange, El Michels Affair, Nick Hakim, Lou Tides, Samora Pinderhughes, Photay and Chrome Sparks, among many others. I am a house engineer at Figure 8 Recording and also work out of my own private studio, Black Lodge Recording.

As a drummer, I’ve contributed to releases by Nick Hakim, Empress Of, Billie Marten, Hannah Cohen, Raveena, Helena Deland, Photay and many others. I’ve also toured and performed extensively as a drummer, most notably with Nick Hakim, Empress Of, Nilufer Yanya, MORMOR, Kimbra, Kadhja Bonet and many others.
